Trust the Plan

Director of Operations Tanya Pereira and Program Manager Susan Robins saw the need for an evaluation that would show funders the impact of their work. Having to be accountable for doing their part of the work helped them move forward on an evaluation plan in a timely way. Trusting in the plan and allowing the process to unfold yielded dividends for this leadership team and for Vita Centre as a whole. “The information we get from this evaluation will be integral to our strategic planning. We can use the evaluation data to look at what our mandate is now and how it will shape our vision and mission going forward.”

Gaining Confidence in Approach

Kathryn Palangio, Executive Director of My Furniture Bank wanted PREP to review the evaluation plan of a one-year initiative that was half-way through its granting period. Talking with PREP’s evaluation team, Kathryn says, helped to validate that she was on the right track. “The idea of having someone who is familiar with your project and your organization is helpful because as our programs evolve, so do the questions.”

Reaching Out to Agency Partners Makes All the Difference

Family Education Centre was looking for ways to reinvigorate their evaluation plan. PREP assisted in this effort by helping them build capacity for evaluation within their staff team and develop an evaluation plan for their Family Futures program. “We all collect data and many leaders may see another workshop around data as ‘the same old same old’ but it’s what you do with the data that matters. Evaluation itself tells your story.”
