Welcome to our evaluation resources toolkit! In this section, we’ve gathered resources that can help nonprofits expand their ability to understand and use evaluation effectively. Becoming familiar with the principles of evaluation and the steps to take before, during and after an evaluation process can enable us to take on some elements of evaluation work within our organizations. It can also help us make better use of an external evaluator.
We’ve ordered these resources to take you on an evaluation journey. This series of tools, templates and activities are intended to guide nonprofit leaders and evaluation staff in the process of evaluation, with the following benefits:
- Help nonprofit organizations understand their capacity to undertake an evaluation
- Provide access to templates and tools to help plan for an evaluation that is tailored to organizational needs and goals
- Build an understanding of evaluation data with guidance on how to determine what data is needed and how it can be collected and analyzed
- Share pointers on how to communicate and make use of evaluation findings. And also, how to incorporate evaluation into the cycle of program planning where it can be used to fuel organizational learning and growth.
